Product description
Application: CO-REL® HJ431-GX flux is designed for submerged arc welding with H08A, H08MnA, H10Mn2, and H10MnSi wires, suitable for carbon steels and low-alloy steels (e.g., 16Mn, 15MnV). Widely applied in shipbuilding, boilers, low-pressure vessels, and structural steel fabrication. Also compatible with electroslag welding and copper welding.
Characteristics: HJ431-GX is a fused high-Mn high-Si low-F flux, appearing as reddish-brown to pale yellow glassy particles. Available grain sizes include:
- 8~14 mesh (2.5-1.5mm)
- 8~40 mesh (2.5-0.38mm)
- 14~40 mesh (1.5-0.38mm)
MnO content plays a critical role in welding performance and mechanical properties. Sourced from high-grade manganese ores, this flux faces rising costs due to increasingly scarce domestic manganese resources. Nevertheless, the high-Mn system delivers superior process adaptability (e.g., arc stability, rust tolerance, and gas pore resistance), making HJ431-GX widely applicable for diverse steels. Compatible with both AC/DC power sources, it ensures optimal performance under DC+ polarity (wire connected to positive terminal).

Precautions:
1. Weld surfaces must be cleaned of oil, moisture, rust, and other contaminants prior to welding.
2. Storage conditions require strict moisture-proof measures.
3. Flux must be baked at 300–400°C for 2 hours before welding.
